My Experience

Photography

As a fun hobby growing up, I have managed to make it a fulfilling job. I lived in the Bahamas as a photographer for the Navy Base located on the white shores. My proudest moment is when there was an osprey nesting on government property. They wanted the Osprey removed but since they are protected it had to be confirmed that she is laying eggs. I got strapped in a helicopter and managed to take a picture of her above. Indeed, we proved she had eggs so she didn't need to be moved which was a win for us.

Rocky Mountain Wolf Project

Wolves have not called home in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado since the 1940s. With the successful reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone, we wanted that same positive effect in Colorado's ecosystem. However, we were trying it a little differently. We thought "how about Coloradoans vote if wolves are going to reintroduced". I was the Colorado State University president of the Rocky Mountain Wolf Project coalition. Our mission was to engage the community and educate the public about the benefits of wolves to our ecosystem. I also engaged with the ranching community on how to prevent wolves from attacking their livestock.

My Statement of Purpose

With this portfolio showcasing my experience, I hope to show my diverse skill set and volunteer experience.  My interdisciplinary studies major gave me the critical thinking skills to tackle any new challenges that may come my way.
